Proposed Colorado law curbs use of credit reports

A bill before the Colorado Legislature would restrict a company's use of a job applicant's credit history as part of a pre-employment screening tool, The Denver Post reports.

The proposal by Sen. Morgan Carroll, a Democrat from Aurora, would limit the use of credit histories to jobs where that information would be relevant, such as in the financial industry.
