Veteran and Military Support

The 2006 Legislature provided a property tax exemption for 100% disabled veterans and re-paid the Veterans Trust Fund.

In 2005 I passed the Military Family Relief Fund (M. Carroll / Jones) to provide financial assistance to families facing financial hardship as a result of deployment.  In 2006 I passed a bill to build Military Family Housing at Buckley Air Force Base (HB06- 1025 M. Carroll / Hagedorn).

The Colorado Freedom Memorial is a project underway in Aurora's House District 36.  When completed it will be a glass monument 14 Feet Tall by 125 Feet Long paying tribute to Colorado's 6,500  soldiers who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
