Aurora Sentinel (Oct. 9, 2008):

"Voters have an easy choice to make in the race for Senate District 29: Morgan Carroll.

Carroll has become an unstoppable force at the Capitol for changes that make life better for everyday residents in Aurora, and especially those who don't have a well-paid lobbyist voice in the Legislature. During Carroll's two terms in the state House, Aurora residents have come to depend on her as a touchstone for fairness and equality. Carroll has been an energetic, passionate and fearless advocate for consumers, veterans, police, the elderly and the disenfranchised.

She has proven herself to be a creative legislator, anxious to look for new ways to solve old problems, often in ways that aggravate big political powerhouses such as the health insurance industry.

Carroll is a keen student of Colorado government, and her constituents benefit greatly from her dedication to understanding fine, important details in almost every bill.

One of her greatest assets is her availability. She regularly holds two public meetings each month, rounding up some of the best experts in the region to help constituents understand complex issues. Besides that, Carroll makes a greater effort than any state lawmaker we've ever known to draw opinions from her constituents about issues.

Carroll has important work to continue in the area of healthcare reform. She created and passed one of the most meaningful healthcare measures to make it out of the Legislature in years, a measure that will force health insurance companies to reveal rate structures and other previously guarded information. Thanks to Carroll, Colorado is finally on the road to allowing consumers to have a much needed say in the state's deteriorating healthcare system.

Don't hesitate to send her to the state Senate to guarantee a strong, effective voice there for working families, the disenfranchised and the forgotten."

The Denver Post:

"Senate District 29 (Arapahoe) — Democratic Rep. Morgan Carroll's record on health care issues makes her a good choice to replace term-limited Bob Hagedorn."

Prior Endorsements

Morgan previously received dozens of endorsements in 2004 and 2006 (see below). The most important endorsements, however, came from the constituents of House District 36 with 55% of the vote in 2004 and 62.4% of the vote in 2006. Thank you to the citizens of House District 36 for the opportunity to represent you!

Aurora Sentinel:

"State Rep. Morgan Carroll, a Democrat, has proven herself a courageous champion for veterans, police and anyone in the state pushed around by senseless laws and thoughtless government systems. She's quick to discern how legislation will affect the moms, grandpas, students and workers who make up her district, and doggedly guard their interests. Carroll has become a valuable Aurora asset. She is the right choice for House District 36."
