I am going as an Alternate Delegate for Barack Obama to the National Convention!
I hope to take lots of photos and blog here on what the convention is like. If any of you wanted to go, but didn't get to, you can check this site out. There will also be convention events and parties all week that will be open to others who weren't necessarily delegates.

For those of you who weren't there, the turnout for the Democratic State Convention was incredible (apparently about 10,000 people)!
The Convention was in El Paso County. On Saturday we had the treat of having El Paso's own Democrat Rep. Mike Merrified (former music teacher) sing the star spangled banner and Sen. Morse lead us in the Pledge.
We heard from Gov. Ritter, State Treasurer Cary Kennedy, Congresswoman DeGette, Congressman Perlmutter, future U.S. Senator Mark Udall, Speaker Romanoff and President Groff.
Both Obama and Clinton campaigns were energized, hard-working and excited about their candidates. Both campaigns committed to working to fully support whomever receives the ultimate Democratic nomination.
Lines were long at times and crowds were big but for the most part people were in good spirits and good sports about the logistical challenges of running the largest state convention in Colorado history.
