The Democratic National Convention is in Denver this year for a truly historic election year from August 25 – Aug 28, 2008.
If you are interested in attending the Democratic National Convention you need to be a Delegate, an Alternate or a designated volunteer.
If you are a Delegate or an Alternate and you would like to be a candidate to be a Delegate for the National Convention you need to complete delegate application forms.
No forms will be accepted after 5:00 M.D.T. on April 17, 2008, no exceptions, and postmarks will not be honored.

Rep. Morgan Carroll (D-Aurora) was elected with 100% of the vote by the Democratic delegates at the Arapahoe County Assembly as the Democratic candidate for Senate District 29. She is running to replace Sen. Bob Hagedorn who is term-limited in 2008.

STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY
MORGAN CARROLL RUNNING FOR SENATE (DISTRICT 29)
February 4, 2008
This morning Rep. Morgan Carroll (D-Aurora) announced at her townhall meeting in Aurora that she running for Colorado Senate (District 29) in 2008.
Rep. Carroll was first elected to Colorado's House District 36 in 2004 and began her first legislative term in 2005. In less than 4 years, she was able to serve as Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Committee, on the Business Affairs and Labor Committee, on the Interim Committee on Auto Insurance, the Legal Services Committee and the Legislative Council Committee. She was also elected to Leadership in the House this year as Majority Caucus Chair.
In less than four years, Rep. Carroll worked with others to achieve some significant reforms including:
- Establish the Military Family Relief Fund assisting military families
- Author and Pass the Homeowners Bill of Rights reforming HOAs
- Facilitate Military Family Housing at Buckley Air Force Base
- Create Transparency on All Insurance Rate Filings for Consumers
- Move Colorado from a D- to an A+ on Lobby Reforms and Disclosures
- Require Accountability and Transparency for "527s" and Soft Dollar Campaigns
- Provide Whistleblower Protection for Healthcare Workers who report patient safety problems
- Author the Michael Skolnik Medical Transparency Act providing patients with pertinent history about doctors licensed in the State of Colorado
- Create reform on Secretary of State Campaign Finance Reporting
- Continue the Office of Consumer Council in the PUC protecting consumers on utility rates
- Reform Workers Compensation to allow injured workers to choose / change their physicians.
- Create Medical Homes for Children to improve care, save costs for kids on Medicaid / CHP
- Create judicial review for permanently persons declared permanently "incompetent".
- Require employers to be in compliance with federal immigration law in order to be eligible for state grants, funding through Office of Economic Development
- Trigger audits of the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Probate Court and for Lobbyist compliance with laws.
- Meet tens of thousands of citizens, voters, and activists and facilitate over 70 public townhall forums.
- This year Rep. Carroll is in the process of:
- Re-authorizing the Military Family Relief Fund
- Providing due process, disability access and mediation for HOA disputes,
- Reforming Special District Accountability,
- Creating greater anti-trust protections against corporate medical monopolies in Colorado,
- Filling enforcement gaps in the Colorado Campaign Fair Practices Act, and
- Requiring rate justification and prior approval before Insurance rate hikes can take effect.
